FAQs

+ How Do I register for a class?

Participants are responsible for registering before the start of each class through the GymMaster app and will be automatically checked in when their key card is swiped. As space is limited, Bridge Fitness highly recommends that you pre-register for each class that you plan to attend. It only takes a quick moment on the app to register or to cancel if you need to. This will reserve you a spot and avoid any disappointments. Also, this helps us know how many participants attend each class and learn which classes are popular or not so popular. Class reservations can be made online 7 days before the scheduled class. A minimum number of 4 participants is required to hold live classes. When registration is below the minimum amount required by the instructor, Bridge Fitness reserves the right to cancel the program. We highly recommend that you pre-register as early as possible to avoid programs being canceled due to lack of enrollment. Want to walk-in? No problem if there is available space. Either way, make sure to check-in by swiping your key card. Ask any member or staff to help you.

+ What forms of payment do you take?

When purchasing and registering for classes online, you can pay by any major credit card or Debit Visa or Debit Mastercard or by etransfer. In the Studio, you can pay by debit or credit. We don’t accept cheques.

+ How do waitlists work?

Waitlists allow clients who are interested in Classes or Events that are already full to wait for an available spot. If a client decides to drop out of a booked Class or Event, the spot is opened to the waitlist on a first-come, first-serve basis. Bridge Fitness will send you an automated email and/or a text message to notify you that you have received a place in class. The email/text will be sent in advance of 2 hours before an afternoon or evening class and 12 hours for a morning class. It is your responsibility to check your email if you are on the waitlist to avoid a missed class charge.

+ I am new to the Studio. Where do I start?

We have classes to suit all levels of fitness, including beginners. Modifications will be offered for all levels; use the modifications given to start with to ensure you don’t ‘overdo’ it with your first class. Please see our schedule page for all current classes and a description of each program.

+ What should I wear and is there somewhere I can change?

Wear clothing that is breathable, flexible, and comfortable. But try to steer clear of baggy clothing. Remember that you will most likely be sweating!! We practice yoga, barre, and core in bare feet or non-slip socks. Other classes wear comfortable runners. We have 2 bathrooms available for your use with ample room for changing.

+ Where can I put my belongings?

Our studio entrance has hooks for coats and floor space for footwear. Please remove your shoes upon entering our area to help preserve our floors and keep the space clean. There are benches available in the practice room for your convenience. If you are bringing your purse/cell phone into the practice room, please be courteous and ensure both ringers and vibrate is turned OFF.

+ How many times a week should I exercise or practice yoga?

Exercise is fantastic….even if you only practice for one hour a week, you will experience the benefits of the practice. If you can do more than that, you will certainly experience more benefits. Do what you can and don’t fret about it! *As a reminder, always consult with your health care provider before embarking on any exercise program. Lastly, don’t forget that the goal of any mindful exercise is to help you feel energized, not depleted.

+ I'm not flexible, can I still do yoga?

Absolutely! All you need is an open mind and a willingness to allow your body to be strengthened and lengthened. This is a common myth about yoga. If you have tight muscles, yoga is just the thing to loosen you up! The point of yoga is not to show off how flexible you are, but rather to become more flexible over time while enjoying yoga’s many other health benefits. Yoga is non-competitive, so no worries there! Relax, have a little fun, and enjoy it!

+ What do I bring to class?

Bring a towel, a mat, and a water bottle. We have professional mats for sale and a filtered water cooler.

+ No front desk?

Because every member is part of our team, You can expect to be able to ask anyone to assist you or answer a question.

+ Are there ever class cancellations?

We do our very best to honor our posted schedule but occasionally have to cancel classes due to weather or unforeseen events and emergencies. Our policy is to post class cancellations a minimum of one hour before the class is scheduled to run. Class cancellations will be posted on our website. Also, you will be notified by email or text of any cancellations of your reservations.

+ Where should I park?

We have plenty of parking! Parking is available along both sides of Park Ave.
